Retired police detective arrested following grand jury indictment

Brian Miller

On July 16, 2020, just after 2:30 p.m., Brian Miller, a 56-year-old retired police detective from Hilo turned himself in at the East Hawaiʻi Detention Facility.

Miller was arrested and charged on the strength of a grand jury indictment and was released after posting $50,000 bail.

The indictment alleges Intimidating a witness, Tampering with a witness, Retaliating against a witness, Terroristic threatening in the second degree and Harassment. This is all stemming from a May 14th incident in Hilo.

Miller’s next court appearance is scheduled for Tuesday July 21st at 11:00 a.m. in Kona Circuit Court.
