HILO, HAWAII – Motorists on Hawaii Island should prepare for potential delays next week due to scheduled roadwork. The Hawaii Department of Transportation (HDOT) has announced a series of lane closures planned across the island from April 12th to April 18th for maintenance and safety improvement projects.
Important Note: There will be no contraflow or lane closures on Good Friday, April 18th, unless specifically permitted. All scheduled work is weather permitting and subject to change without further notice.

Kanoelehua Avenue (Route 11):
Hilo: Possible single lane closures in either direction between mile markers 0-2.5, near Ahona Place, Monday, April 14th to Thursday, April 17th, 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. for mulching and shoulder work.
Hilo (Weekend Work): Possible single lane closures in either direction between mile markers 0-3, near East Palai Street, Saturday, April 12th, 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. for mulching and shoulder work.
Hilo: Possible single lane closures in either direction between mile markers 2-4, near East Puainako Street and Lama Street, Monday, April 14th to Thursday, April 17th, 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. for mowing.
Mamalahoa Highway (Route 11):
