Today, Senator Laura Acasio (District 1 – Hilo) announced the organizations in her district that were chosen to receive Grant-in-Aid (GIA) monies from the Hawai’i State Legislature. Four organizations in the Hilo area are set to receive over $1,772,397 in funding.
The four District 1 organizations receiving GIA awards are:
The ARC of Hilo ($372,397)
Boys and Girls Club of the Big Island ($800,000)
Going Home Hawai‘i ($250,000)
Hawai‘i County Economic Opportunity Council ($350,000)
“These are four organizations that provide vital services to our keiki, neighbors and family members,” said Senator Acasio. “This funding will allow these organizations to continue to do their incredibly important work, which ultimately helps improve our community-at-large.”
