State Road and Highways Roadwork and Lane Closures for April 9 – 15, 2021

Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice.  All projects are weather permitting.

There will be no daytime roadwork scheduled on Friday, April 15 in observance of Good Friday, unless permitted. Highway 130 special use lanes will not be operational.

 — MAMALAHOA HIGHWAY (ROUTE 11) —

1) MOUNTAIN VIEW (WEEKEND/WEEKLY WORK)

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile markers 22 and 23, Old Volcano Road and Alii Kane Street, on Saturday, April 9 through Monday, April 11, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for mulching and grass cutting.

2) HONAUNAU (WEEKEND/WEEKLY WORK)

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile markers 84 and 85, Old Mamalahoa Highway and Kapua Mauka Road, on Saturday, April 9 through Monday, April 11, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for grass cutting.

3) KONA (WEEKEND/WEEKLY WORK)

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile markers 105 and 106, Hawaii Belt Road and Mamalahoa Highway, on Saturday, April 9 through Monday, April 11, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for mulching and grass cutting.

— HAWAII BELT ROAD (ROUTE 19) —

1) HILO

Right lane closure on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) in the northbound direction near mile marker 2.5, Shipman Street and Wailuku Drive, on Monday, April 11 through Friday, April 15, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for Wailuku Stream Bridge repair work.

2) HAKALAU (WEEKEND/WEEKLY WORK)

Single lane closure on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction near mile marker 13.8, near Kolekole Beach Park, on Saturday, April 9 through Friday, April 15, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., for bridge repair work.

3) HONOMU (24/7 RESTRICTION)

Kolekole Bridge at mile marker 14.27 on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) is weight restricted to 12 tons (24,000 lbs.) until further notice. The speed limit in the area is reduced to 25 mph. See https://hidot.hawaii.gov/highways/weight-limit-for-kolekole-bridge-now-12-tons/ for details.

4) LAUPAHOEHOE (WEEKEND/WEEKLY WORK)

Single lane closure on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between mile markers 25 and 26, Hawaii Belt Road and Puualaea Homestead Road, on Saturday, April 9 through Monday, April 11, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for tree trimming and shoulder work.

5) LAUPAHOEHOE (WEEKEND/WEEKLY WORK)

Single lane closure on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between mile markers 25 and 27, Puualaea Homestead Road and Jardine Road, on Saturday, April 9 through Monday, April 11, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for grass cutting.

— KAWAIHAE ROAD (ROUTE 19) —

1) WAIKOLOA (WEEKEND/WEEKLY WORK)

Single lane closure on Kawaihae Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between mile markers 69 and 75, Hapuna Beach Road and Waikoloa Beach Drive, on Saturday, April 9 through Monday, April 11, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for landscaping and shoulder work.

— PAHOA-KALAPANA ROAD (ROUTE 130) —

1) PAHOA

Single lane closure on Pahoa-Kalapana Road (Route 130) possible in either direction between mile markers 0.0 and 3, Hawaii Belt Road and Keaau-Pahoa Road, on Monday, April 11 through Friday, April 15, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for installation of new traffic signal indicators.

2) PAHOA

Single lane closure on Pahoa-Kalapana Road (Route 130) possible in either direction near mile marker 15.4, Alaili Road, on Monday, April 11 through Friday, April 15, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for pavement and guardrail improvements.

— MAMALAHOA HIGHWAY (ROUTE 190) —

1) KAMUELA

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 190) possible in either direction between mile markers 3.9 and 6.9, Saddle Road and Cross Island Road, on Monday, April 11 through Friday, April 15, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for shoulder widening, installation of rumble strips and other safety improvements.

2) WAIKOLOA (WEEKEND/WEEKLY WORK)

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 190) possible in either direction between mile markers 9 and 13, Saddle Road and Daniel K. Inouye Highway, on Saturday, April 9 through Monday, April 11, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for landscaping and shoulder work.
