Traffic Signals to be Inspected in Hilo and Puna

Starting Monday, August 3, 2020, through Friday, August 7, 2020, the County of Hawai‘i Department of Public Works Traffic Division will conduct inspections and testing of traffic control signals throughout Hilo and Puna between the hours of 8:45 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., weather permitting. 

Work will be performed at the following intersections on the dates listed with estimated work time per intersection of no more than one hour.

Kanoelehua Ave. / Kamehameha Ave.
Kanoelehua Ave. / Kekuanaoa St. 
Kanoelehua Ave. / Leilani St. 

8/4/20
Kanoelehua Ave. / Kawili St. 
Kanoelehua Ave. / Makaʻala St. 
Kanoelehua Ave. / Puainako St. 

8/5/20
Kanoelehua Ave. / Kahaopea St. 
Kanoelehua Ave. / Kawailani St. 
Highway 11 / Highway 130 Bypass 

8/6/20
Highway 11 / Highway 139 Ball Park 
Highway 11 / Paʻahana/Kamehameha School 
Highway 11 / Huina Rd. 

8/7/20
Highway 11 / Kulani Rd. 
Kīlauea Ave. / Kekuanaoa St. 
Kīlauea Ave. /Mohouli St. 
Kīlauea Ave. /Pauahi St.  

Special duty officers will be onsite to direct traffic while work is being performed. Motorists are advised to drive with caution in the work zone. 

The County of Hawai‘i Department of Public Works apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause and thanks the community for their patience and understanding.
