Hawaiian Electric crews will be replacing a utility pole on Likana Lane in Kailua-Kona from Monday to Wednesday, July 18-20, as part of routine maintenance to improve system reliability.

The single-lane road will be closed between Alii Drive and the entrance to the public parking lot from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. However, street parking along Likana Lane will be unavailable until the pole replacement is completed.

Motorists are advised to seek alternate routes and parking. The parking lot can be accessed via Kuakini Highway. Traffic control personnel will be in place to direct motorists and pedestrians passing near the work area.

The work will involve removing the wooden pole and installing a new concrete pole. It will not require a power outage.
