Hawaiʻi Island police have located 30-year-old Kevin Riley Galigo of Na’alehu, who was wanted for an outstanding warrant for his arrest.
On Monday, May 25, 2021, at 11:30 a.m., Galigo turned himself in to the East Hawai‘i Detention Facility. Galigo was booked on his outstanding warrant and remained in custody pending an investigation into a theft.
On Tuesday, May 26, 2021, at 9:30 a.m., after conferring with prosecutors, Area II Criminal Investigation Detectives charged Galigo with a single count of theft in the fourth degree. This charge stemmed from Galigo being in possession of items that were removed during a burglary of a residence located on Holowai Street in Na’alehu on April 23, 2021. Galigo was also charged with three counts of violating terms and conditions of release on bail/supervised release after it was determined that when Galigo allegedly committed the theft, he was out on bail and/or supervised release for three prior criminal cases. His bail was set at $23,500 with his initial court appearance set for May 27, 2021, in Kona District Court.
