Water Shut-Off Notice for Areas in North Kohala

AFFECTED AREA: ALL SERVICES ALONG AKONI PULE HIGHWAY FROM IʻOLE ROAD TO AKANA PLACE, INCLUDING HALAʻULA-MAʻULILI ROAD, OLD HALAʻULA MILL ROAD, MAʻULILI LOOP, NIU LANE, GREENSBANK ROAD, AKANA PLACE, OLD HĀLAWA MILL ROAD, AND ANY PRIVATE ROADS WITHIN THE SHUT-OFF AREA; NORTH KOHALA, HAWAIʻI


Water will be temporarily turned off in the above-mentioned area overnight from 11:00 p.m. Thursday, October 28, 2021, to 3:00 a.m. on Friday, October 29, 2021, to install a new waterline connection for the Department of Water Supply’s Halaʻula Well Development – Phase 2 Project.


Upon the resumption of water service, the waterlines will be flushed and cleaned, during which time you may notice turbid and/or discolored water.


You may also notice trapped air in your plumbing, which will be released as you initially use water.
Affected customers are asked to take any and all precautions necessary to protect the customers’ property and facilities including, but not limited to, disabling electrical power to pumps and/or any other devices whose normal operation may be dependent on water pressure and/or water supply, and which might be harmed if automatically energized during the water shut-off.
