The Office of Elections conducted a drawing today to determine the order in which the political parties will appear on the 2022 Elections ballot. The order, determined at random, is as follows:
- Green Party of Hawaii
- Nonpartisan ballot
- Constitution Party of Hawaii
- Aloha Aina Party
- Hawaii Republican Party
- Libertarian Party of Hawaii
- Democratic Party of Hawaii
View the party drawing here.
These parties may field candidates for partisan contests like U.S. Senate or State Representative. Candidates not affiliated with a political party may still run as nonpartisan candidates.
Hawaii conducts a single party primary election where voters must indicate their political preference and vote only for candidates within their selected preference. The candidates who receive the most votes are nominated to represent their political party at the General Election.
Voters should look for their Primary Election ballot in the mail by July 26 and their General Election ballot by October 21. Ballots must be received by 7:00 pm on Election Day to be counted.
Primary Election: Saturday, August 13
General Election, Tuesday, November 8
