DPW will be closing the makai lane on Aliʻi Drive for road repairs as a result of Changing sea levels and tidal impacts that have caused deterioration beneath the roadway and sidewalk. The work is scheduled to commence on December 12, 2022, and is scheduled to be completed by February 24, 2023.

Only local traffic will be allowed from Palani Road to near King Kamehameha Kona Beach Hotel. The community can access Aliʻi Drive through the designated detour on Hualālai Road. The northbound lane on Aliʻi Drive will remain open during the construction project.

The Department appreciates the public’s patience and apologizes for any inconvenience the roadwork may cause.
