Governor Releases $8,750,000 to Fund Construction of a 10-Million Gallon Water Reservoir in Lālāmi’lo

David Ige released $8,750,000.00 in Capital Improvement Project (CIP) funding for the construction of a 10-million gallon water reservoir for the Lālāmi‘lo water system on the island of Hawai‘i.

The reservoir will consist of a 36-foot-high concrete tank on property currently owned by Parker Ranch that will be subdivided to create a three-acre lot. The Hawai‘i County Department of Water Supply will be in charge of constructing the reservoir. Additional components will include accessory waterlines, a gate, an access road, security lighting, and a fence.

Funding for the project will be split between the State and the Hawai‘i County Department of Water Supply.
