Hawaii Affordable Properties, INC Reopening of the Na Kahua Hale o Ulu Wini Wait List

Hawaii Affordable Properties, Inc., is pleased to announce that it will be accepting applications for Na Kahua Hale O Ulu Wini beginning:

TUESDAY, MARCH 1, 2022

An application can be picked up and submitted to Na Kahua Hale O Ulu Wini, 73-4180 Ulu Wini Place, Kailua Kona, HI 96740.

Applications must be thoroughly completed, signed, and dated by all adult (18 and over) members that will be part of the household. Applications can also be mailed to you upon your request. Please call 319-2366 and leave a thorough mailing address if you want the application to be mailed.

Eligibility will be determined by the total gross income and family size (minimum of three (3) household members). In general, the family’s income may not exceed 80 percent of the median income for Hawai’i County.

2022 HUD INCOME LIMITS

Area Median Family Income (AMI) $78,800

Gross Annual Income must be at or below:

Prospective applicants on the waitlist will be selected chronologically by preference then by date for non-preference applicants. Families will be selected, if they qualify, in the following prioritized order:

P1. Highest Priority: Families that are currently in Transitional Housing and have at least one (1) minor child under the age of 18

1. Victims of Domestic Violence (families)

2. Homeless families with at least one (1) minor child under the age of 18

3. Any resident family of the State or County of Hawai’i that has at least one (1) minor child under the age of 18

4. Disabled families requiring an Accessible unit

Hawaii Affordable Properties, Inc., will contact the applicant family when it is time to begin the screening process. During the screening process, Hawaii Affordable Properties, Inc., will forward applications to the Office of Housing and Community, collect and verify information on family income, assets, and family composition to determine eligibility. Hawaii Affordable Properties, Inc. will then do a final screening to complete eligibility.
