Hawai‘i County Beach Parks Reopen Today after Hurricane Passes

The Hawai‘i County Department of Parks and Recreation announces that all County beach and shoreline parks that were closed this weekend due to Hurricane Douglas have reopened effective 7:00 a.m. Monday. 

County beach parks on east-facing shores were closed effective Friday, July 24, as the storm approached.  Field reports showed that the hurricane had minimal impact on Hawai‘i Island.
