Hawai’i Island Police Seek Public’s Help in Locating Missing 10-Year-Old Boy (LOCATED)

UPDATE: Oliver Crook LOCATED

Hawaii Island Police report that they located 10-year-old Oliver Crook of

Volcano, who was reported missing. Crook was located in Hilo on Thursday, March 13, 2025 at 10:45 p.m., in good health.

Police thank the public for their assistance.


The Hawai’i Island Police Department is asking for the public’s urgent assistance in locating 10-year-old Oliver Crook, who went missing from Volcano on Thursday, March 13, 2025. Due to his age, Oliver is considered an endangered missing person.

Oliver was last seen on Alaohia Street, which is located off of Highway 11 near the 25-mile marker in Volcano, at approximately 12:00 p.m. on Thursday. However, his disappearance was not reported to police until around 7:45 p.m. that evening.

Since the report, multiple police officers, including the police department’s missing person K9 unit, have been actively searching the area throughout the night.

Oliver Crook is described as having a fair complexion, standing 4 feet 10 inches tall, weighing 65 pounds, and having reddish-brown hair.

Police are urging anyone who may have seen Oliver, or who has any information regarding his whereabouts, to contact the police department immediately.

Anyone with information is asked to call the police department’s non-emergency number at (808) 935-3311, or dial 911 immediately. All tips, no matter how insignificant they may seem, are encouraged to be reported. The community’s assistance is crucial in ensuring Oliver’s safe return.
