High Surf Advisory for West Facing Shores of Big Island

HIGH SURF ADVISORY FOR NORTH AND WEST FACING SHORES OF NIIHAU, KAUAI, OAHU AND MOLOKAI. NORTH FACING SHORES OF MAUI AND WEST FACING SHORES OF THE BIG ISLAND

Surf along exposed north and west facing shores will remain above advisory levels through this afternoon as a new west- northwest swell builds into the region.

HIGH SURF ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM HST THIS EVENING

* WHAT: Surf 10 to 15 feet along north facing shores of Niihau, Kauai, Oahu, Molokai, and Maui. Surf 8 to 12 feet along west facing shores of Niihau, Kauai, Oahu, and Molokai. Surf 7 to 10 feet along west facing shores of the Big Island.

* WHERE: North and west facing shores of Niihau, Kauai, Oahu, and Molokai, north facing shores of Maui, and west facing shores of the Big Island.

* WHEN: Until 6 PM HST this evening.

* IMPACTS: Moderate. Expect strong breaking waves, shore break, and strong longshore and rip currents making swimming difficult and dangerous.

Beaches: Aliʻi Beach Park, Ehukai Beach, Haleʻiwa Beach, Maili Beach, Makaha Beach, Nanakuli Beach, Depot’s Beach, Pokai Beach, Keawaʻula Beach, Sunset Beach, Chun’s Reef, Laniakea Beach, Waimea Bay, KeʻWaena Beach, D.T. Fleming Park, Spencer Beach Park, White Sands Beach Park, Kahaluʻu Beach Park, Hapuna Beach Park, Haʻena Beach Park, Keʻe Beach, Hanalei Bay, Anahola Beach Park, Kealia Beach Park , Lydgate Beach, Lydgate Pond, Poipu Beach Park, Salt Pond Beach Park
