Prosecuting Attorney Kelden Waltjen announced that a Honoka’a man, 40 year-old Kristoffer K.R. Rosborough was charged with possession of a stolen firearm and felony drug offenses related to an incident that occurred on November 10th.
As the Complaint alleges, Rosborough, who is prohibited from owning firearms, was charged with six (6) offenses including, Theft in the First Degree (theft of a firearm, a Russian SKS model rifle), Place to Keep Unloaded Firearm Other than Pistol or Revolver (a Russian SKS model rifle), misdemeanor Ownership or Possession of Firearm Prohibited, Prohibited Acts Related to Drug Paraphernalia, and two counts of Promoting a Dangerous Drug in the Third Degree (possession of any amount of methamphetamine).
Rosborough made his initial appearance today in Hilo District Court via video from cellblock. DPD Jonas Krave made an oral motion for Rosborough release under supervision or bail reduction. Objection by DPA Andrew D. Son for the State. Motion denied by Judge Jeffrey Hawk. Bail maintained at $20,000.00. Rosborough ordered to appear for Preliminary Hearing on 16-Nov-2021 at 02:00 PM in Courtroom 2A, Hamakua at Hilo Division. He remains in custody in lieu of $20,000.00 bail.
The investigation was handled by Office John Kari, North Hilo / Hamakua Patrol, and Officer Christopher Fukumoto, Special Enforcement Unit, Area I Criminal Investigation Section, Hawai‘i Police Department. The case is being prosecuted by Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Sylvia Wan.
The charges are merely allegations, and the Defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
