On Tuesday, April 20, 2021, at 1:00 p.m., members of Area II Special Enforcement Unit located Girangaya at a residence on Plumeria Road in the Kailua-Kona area. Girangaya was arrested for her outstanding warrants at the Kealakehe Police Station as detectives from the Area II Criminal Investigation Section continued pursuing several ongoing investigations in which Girangaya was a suspect.
