Nenue Street Structure Fire Destroys Home

A structure fire at 15-2794 Nenue Street was reported at 8:28 am this morning to Pahoa Branch of the Hawaii Fire Department.

Upon arrival at 8:38 am, HFD found a 25ʻ x 25ʻ foot wood frame post and peer single-family residence partially in flames. Defensive attack maneuvers were performed by Firefighters and the fire was first contained to the structure. The fire was brought under control by 8:50 am and combined with an overhaul the fire was completely extinguished by 9:05 am.

The house appeared to be abandoned with very little content within with no signs of occupants at the scene. The fire caused an estimated loss of $140,000.
