Permit Application Cancellation Amnesty Created to Address Unreliable EPIC System

Permit application cancellations (per HCC Section 5-4-7) will be granted amnesty until all email communications through the EPIC system are confirmed for reliability.  It was determined on November 30, 2021 that while permit applications did move appropriately through the EPIC system, a technical system issue resulted in email notification failures when communicating the notification of the permit application status to the applicants.

As we are committed to improving our communication with the public, we are working to resolve this issue as expeditiously as possible. Until DPW is assured that this email notification issue has been resolved, no permit applications will be cancelled.

We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your patience and understanding.

Any questions can be addressed to DPW Information and Education Specialist, Sherise Kanaʻe-Kāne at sherise.kanae-kane@hawaiicounty.gov or 808-961-8499.
