Police Renew Plea for Public’s Help in Locating Missing Big Island Man, Charles Poole (LOCATED)

UPDATE: Police Locate Missing Person Charles Poole

HILO, Hawai’i – Hawai’i Island police are once again asking for the community’s assistance in locating 77-year-old Charles Poole, who has been missing since April 9, 2024. Poole was last seen on Pāhoa Village Road.

Authorities describe Poole as a Caucasian male with a fair complexion, standing approximately 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighing around 185 pounds. He has long, gray hair and blue eyes.

According to police, Poole is known to frequent various locations across Hawai’i Island, as well as the island of O’ahu. This updated request for information underscores the ongoing concern for Mr. Poole’s well-being.

Detective Amy Omaya of the Area I Criminal Investigation Section is leading the investigation and urges anyone with information, no matter how seemingly insignificant, to come forward.

“We are deeply concerned for Mr. Poole’s safety and are exploring all possible leads,” stated Detective Omaya. “Even a small piece of information could be crucial in helping us locate him and bring peace of mind to his loved ones.”
