Hawai‘i Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a male shoplifting suspect responsible for a theft at a South Kohala convenience store on Sunday, July 10, 2022.

At 2:08 p.m. on Sunday afternoon, South Kohala patrol officers responded to the Opelo Road business after the owner reported that when looking through his surveillance footage earlier that day, he observed a male reach over the counter and remove two containers of vape liquid from a display stand. The suspect, who was wearing tan long pants, a brown long-sleeved hoodie, and grey shoes, then left the store on foot in an unknown direction.

The male suspect is described as having a thin build and being between 5 feet 6 inches to 6 feet tall.

Police ask anyone who may know the identity of the suspect to call the police department’s non-emergency number at (808) 935-3311, or School Resource Officer Edward Lewis Jr. of South Kohala Patrol at (808) 887-3080 or email edward.lewis@hawaiicounty.gov.
