Police Seeking Public’s Help to Locate Missing Mother and Daughter

Kailua-Kona, Hawaiʻi – Hawaiʻi Island police are requesting the public’s assistance in locating 50-year-old Shawndell Cortez, of Kailua-Kona, and her 7-year-old daughter Amina Bivings, who have been reported missing. Cortez is considered endangered due to a medical condition.

Cortez is described as Filipino, 5 feet tall, 180 pounds, with a light brown complexion, long straight blonde hair, and brown eyes. She has a multicolored rose tattoo on the left side of her chest, a faded black cross on her left middle finger, and the name “Daniel J” tattooed across her left hand.

Bivings is described as Puerto Rican, African American, and Filipino. She is 4 feet tall, 50 pounds, with a medium brown complexion, curly light brown hair with blonde tips, and brown eyes.

The pair were last seen in the Kailua-Kona area on Sunday, August 3, 2025, at around 12:00 p.m.
