The Department of Public Works Division and Jas Glover Ltd. will commence road and sidewalk repairs on Kīlauea Avenue and Keawe Street from Ponahawai Street to Waiānuenue Avenue. This project includes permanent pavement striping, installation of loop detectors, signage upgrades, and sidewalk repairs.
Project Details:
Location: Kīlauea Avenue/Keawe Street, from Ponahawai Street to Waiānuenue Avenue
Work Hours: Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 3:00 pm
Duration: July 10 to August 30 (weather permitting)
Traffic and Pedestrian Impacts:
Anticipate one-lane closures and parking restrictions starting at Ponahawai Street and continuing to Waiānuenue Avenue.
Please exercise caution when traveling through Hilo town during construction.
Sidewalks will remain open for pedestrian traffic throughout the project.
Alternate pedestrian routes are available via Kamehameha Avenue and Kinoʻole Street.
