Police Chief Paul Ferreira has promoted seven individuals to the rank of Lieutenant, effective Friday, July 16, 2021.
Lieutenant Brian Prudencio, a 21-year veteran is now assigned to Administration – CALEA (Accreditation). He most recently served as a detective in the Office of Professional Standards, previously working in Juvenile Aid Section and VICE Section, with patrol officer assignments in South Hilo, and Kau districts.
Lieutenant Grant Todd, a 21-year veteran is assigned to South Hilo Patrol. He most recently served as a detective in the Area I Criminal Investigation Section (Hilo), previously working in the VICE Section, with patrol officer assignments in South Hilo and Kona districts.
Lieutenant Paul Kim, a 17-year veteran is now assigned to South Hilo Patrol. He most recently served as a sergeant assigned to the Special Response Team, previously working in the Traffic Enforcement Unit, with patrol assignments in the South Hilo and South Kohala districts.
Lieutenant Levon Stevens, a 16-year veteran is now assigned to Kona Patrol. He most recently served as detective in the Area I VICE Section (Hilo), previously worked in the Criminal Investigation Section, with patrol officer assignments in the North Kohala and Puna districts.
Lieutenant Pernell Hanoa, a 16-year veteran is now assigned to the Area II Juvenile Aid Section (Kona). He most recently served as a sergeant in Ka‘u Patrol, previously worked in the Criminal Investigation Section, with patrol officer assignments in the Ka‘u and Kona districts.
Lieutenant Bobbie-Jo Sagon, a 15-year veteran is now assigned to Kona Patrol. She most recently served as a detective in the Area I Juvenile Aid Section (Hilo), previously worked in the Criminal Investigation Section, the Criminal Intelligence Unit, with patrol officer assignments in South Kohala.
Lieutenant Bryan Tina, a 15-year veteran is now assigned to South Kohala Patrol. He most recently served as a sergeant in Puna Patrol, previously worked as a School Resource Officer, with patrol officer assignments in the Puna and Kona districts.
