Hawai‘i Island police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a man who is a person of interest in a theft that occurred at a Pāhoa residence in October.

On October 23, 2024, a man was captured on video surveillance walking around a private residence on Limu Street in the Hawaiian Beaches subdivision. It was later discovered that an item was missing from the area where the man was seen. This same individual is also a person of interest in a burglary investigation that took place at the same residence about a month earlier.

The man is described as possibly being in his 30s, with a thin build, a tan complexion, and dark-colored hair. At the time, he was wearing a camouflage-patterned hooded jacket.

Police are asking anyone who may recognize the individual to contact the police department’s non-emergency line at (808) 935-3311 or Detective Zenas Pacheco at (808) 961-2289. Tips can also be emailed to Zenas.Pacheco@hawaiicounty.gov.

Those who wish to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers at (808) 961-8300.
