by Thunda

Hawaiʻi Island police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating 28-year-old Shanice Ogata-Staudinger of Puna who is wanted on an outstanding warrant in connection with an assault investigation.

Ogata-Staudinger is described as 5 feet 2 inches tall, 150 pounds, with hazel eyes and brown hair. She has a ($) dollar sign tattoo on her left upper check, and various other tattoos on both forearms and chest area. She is possibly operating a red colored 2004 Toyota Sequoya and is known to frequent the Puna district.

The investigation stems from a domestic incident that occurred shortly after 10:00 a.m. Tuesday morning, May 2, 2023, in Pāhoa.

Puna patrol officers responded to a residence on Ohiki Street in Pāhoa after a 43-year-old man reported being stabbed with a hunting type knife by Ogata-Staudinger. The 43-year-old man was treated at the Hilo Medical Center for non-life-threatening injuries and released on Thursday, May 4, 2023.

Ogata-Staudinger is considered armed and dangerous. Police advise the public to not contact her and instead call the police department’s non-emergency number at (808) 935-3311.

Anyone with information on Ogata-Staudinger’s whereabouts is encouraged to contact Detective Richard Itliong at (808) 961-2278, or via email at richard.itliong@hawaiicounty.gov.

Citizens can also make an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers at (808) 961-8300 and be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000. Crime Stoppers does not record any calls or subscribe to caller ID.
