Hilo Man Anthony Kahiokala Hatori Charged With Felony Drug Possession and Attempted Distribution

Today, Prosecuting Attorney Kelden Waltjen announced that a Hilo man, 52-year-old Anthony Kahiokala Hatori, was charged with felony drug possession and attempted distribution offenses.

As the Complaint alleges, Hatori, who has sixteen (16) prior felony convictions, was charged with sixteen (16) offenses, including felony possession of methamphetamine, cocaine, heroin, oxycodone, and other controlled substances, and the attempted distribution of methamphetamine.
The charges are merely allegations, and the Defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
Hatori made his initial appearance this afternoon in Hilo District Court before Judge Jeffrey Hawk. Judge Hawk maintained Hatori’s bail at $184,000.00 and ordered him to appear for his preliminary hearing on May 26, 2021.
The investigation was handled by the Area I Vice Unit, Hawai‘i Police Department. The case is being prosecuted by Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Elyssa Correia Keltner.
